Report from the ECB
"Privacy emerges as the key feature that a digital euro should offer, according to respondents to the public consultation"
"Privacy emerges as the key feature that a digital euro should offer, according to respondents to the public consultation. This is confirmed both indirectly – by the presence of comments on the importance of privacy in the responses to most questions – and directly – by the choice of two in five citizen respondents to rank privacy-first among the nine features proposed in this question"
The Chart "Most important feature of a digital euro per type of respondent" in the report is also very interesting to see.
Solana mainnet-beta went down, temporarily blocked for 7 hours
Anatoly Yakovenko, one of the co-founders of Solana, a PoS-based consensus blockchain, has published his opinion, on the bitcoin (PoW) algorithm and how it could affect the leading cryptocurrency in the future.
In an interview with CNBC, Yakovenko said that one of the main differences when comparing Solana to bitcoin is the former's energy efficiency:
"If you look at Solana's energy ratio, a Solana transaction is about two Google searches for the amount of energy spent. I think even among proof-of-stake networks it is one of the most efficient blockchains."
Yakovenko also noted that he believes most of the networks people will use in the future will be PoS-based. Asked about Bitcoin's future in this context, Yakovenko said:
"If Bitcoin doesn't eventually switch to proof-of-stake, no one will use it."
What is interesting is that immediately after his clever statement, Solana's Mainnet lost consensus for 7 hours. The Solana PoS blockchain network crashed after a significant number of transactions flooded and stopped the network.
Solana's PoS network has also experienced difficulties in the past, when blockchain production stopped for several hours in mid-September 2021.
The shutdown of Solana's network was confirmed on their Twitter account.
Solana explained that the cause was 'an excessive volume of transactions'. Within 24 hours, the validator community upgraded and successfully restarted the core network.

Opensea buys Gem
Gem launched in January 2022 as a marketplace aggregator that lets users sweep NFTs in bulk easily across various NFT marketplaces (rather than only Ethereum).
It’s an app designed for the most degen advanced NFT traders - and now its features will be incorporated to the OpenSea experience.
Gem is an NFT marketplace aggregator that was just acquired by OpenSea. The platform aggregates NFT listings and sales across OpenSea, LooksRare, NFTX, X2Y2, and more marketplaces to come.
if you head to the “Trending Collections” section of the Gem homepage, you’ll find a marketplace stats section that will show you which NFT projects have had the most cross-ecosystem trade volume over the last day, the last week, the last month, and all time.
If you’re on the hunt for new NFT projects, it’s worth periodically checking Gem’s volume stats to see if any new collections are exploding out of the gate on the 24-hr volume charts.

Hacked Fei protocol

Fei Protocol, which provides FEI stablecoin for DeFi, used Rari Capital's "Rari Fuse" loan pool, but it appears there was a hack in this pool. Fei Protocol tweeted about the issue as follows:
BlockSec has analyzed this as a reentry attack. This attack involves 'inserting smart contracts many times and repeating remittance transactions.
According to CertiK, which provides cryptocurrency security information, the attack used a flash loan.

BITCOIN: possible bullish movement. Here's why
The share of #BTC supply that has been idle for at least a year reached a new all-time high of 64.5% today
We've seen a parabolic rise in illiquid Bitcoin supply lately.
Historically, this has always led to a lack of liquidity in the markets and as a consequence, a rise in the price.
